Aurora Receives Grant from Joy of Giving Something, Inc.
Indianapolis, IN (July 16, 2024) — Aurora PhotoCenter recently received a multi-year grant from Joy of Giving Something, Inc., totaling $45,000 in general operating support over a three-year period. The grant will be used to fund Aurora’s mission to support visual artists working in photography through exhibitions, residencies, workshops, artist talks, and access to creative tools.
“On behalf of everyone at Aurora, I thank Joy of Giving Something for this incredibly generous grant toward our mission. This grant adds amazing momentum to our growth as an organization,” said Aurora Founder and Executive Director Mary Goodwin.
Joy of Giving Something, Inc., is a not-for-profit organization supporting the photographic arts through grants to museums, educational institutions, and community-based organizations. Joy of Giving Something (JGS) was founded in 1998 by Howard and Janet Stein as a non-profit philanthropic corporation to support creative projects that attempt to illuminate the impact of present-day events and discoveries on future conditions. To accomplish this goal, JGS makes grants to small and medium-sized arts organizations that support emerging artists working in photography and related media who are producing new and important work, and more established artists in need of special assistance or consideration.
