Seeking Paid Intern

Internship Stipend: $2,000
Aurora PhotoCenter is an Indianapolis-based nonprofit that supports visual artists working in photography through a full program of exhibitions, residencies, workshops, artist talks, and access to creative tools.
We seek an intern to work with Director Mary Goodwin in the gallery/workspace environment to supplement coursework in the fine arts or arts administration at an accredited college or university. Strong interest in photography, exhibitions, workshops, and events a plus. Intern must be reliable and capable of working independently.
The intern will be required to dedicate approximately 10 hours per week for the duration of the internship. Starting in January 2024, Aurora’s gallery + workspace will have regular business hours 10am-6pm Thursday-Sunday and by appointment.
A stipend total of $2,000 will be paid to the intern, $1,000 due after the first half of the internship and the second half of the stipend upon the internship’s completion.
We can tailor the internship to the intern’s interest and needs. Some core duties at Aurora could include:
* Assist with installation/deinstallation of exhibitions including gallery design and layout
* Assist with planning and manning First Friday events at the CCIC gallery
* Documentation of First Friday open hours, workshops, artist visits, and special events
* Production of marketing and promotional interviews and other videos
* Assist with marketing (September-November) and fulfilling (January) Fine Print Program orders
* Assist with weekly social media planning and posting
* Gallery/workspace sitting and attending
* General cleaning (once per month and as needed)
* Darkroom chemistry maintenance (weekly)
* Assist instructor and provide general support for workshops
* Assist visiting artists and residents
* Catalog donations
Depending on demonstrated skill, intern may be asked to perform some tasks in the digital lab. To apply, by November 30, please send a current resume and a statement of goals/plans for the internship to
