Please join Aurora PhotoCenter and the Arts Council of Indianapolis for the opening of the exhibition New Photography 2022, which showcases topical subjects, themes, modalities, and methods that are engaging Central Indiana photographers now, in this important moment.

Since Aurora’s last exhibition at Gallery 924 in November 2019, the world has experienced seismic changes, with the pandemic, protests for racial, social, and economic justice, and shifts in how we work and make work, go to school, and live. Many in our Central Indiana arts community relied on photography as a means to document and respond to the changes of the last two years. Photography helped us keep a record, keep us sane, and keep us creating with beauty, revelations, and new directions for exploration.

New Photography 2022 highlights photographic work by Central Indiana photographers and photo-based artists made on or after January 1, 2020.
